Personalized Treatment Planning
 It's a fact - no two smiles are exactly alike. Our approach to your care begins with a
thorough assessment of the condition and health of your teeth, bite, jaw joints, gums
and supporting bone. As part of this analysis, we utilize digital xrays to view structures
not visible to the human eye and conduct an oral examination that includes gum measurements to detect signs of periodontal disease. We then combine this data with
an oral cancer screening and detailed medical and dental history to arrive at recommendations based on your specific needs and smile goals.

Restorative Dentistry
The hardest substance in the human body is tooth enamel. When this structure is compromised due to decay or trauma,
it can sometimes be restored by rebuilding the tooth structure with a protective crown, or "cap". If the tooth is damaged
beyond repair, it may be replaced by a dental bridge supported by adjacent teeth, or, a dental implant placed by a
specialist and then restored by our doctors with a crown.
For areas of lesser damage, smaller, more conservative laboratory-fabricated inlays or onlays can sometimes be placed
to restore tooth structure. Composite plastic or silver filling materials can also be used to repair tiny chipped areas or
deep grooves in the teeth that have developed early signs of decay due to penetrative bacteria.
Tooth restorations are available in a variety of materials, including gold and semi-precious metals, as well as
natural-looking materials such as tooth-colored fillings or porcelain.
The main purpose of any restoration is to help balance the biting forces of the mouth and create a surface that is easy
to clean. Sometimes we will use materials to "build up" remaining tooth structure to create a better foundation for
placing a restoration.
 In some cases, the nerve of the tooth may have been affected by the damage to the tooth, requiring a root canal procedure to treat infection and seal the canals prior to placing a permanent restoration. We sometimes refer our patients to a root canal specialist, or Endodontist, for this procedure.
Prevention is the key - Keeping your teeth healthy is ultimately better for your smile and your budget. Our goal is to detect warning signs of tooth decay or bite imbalance as early as possible through regular checkups and dental cleanings. Be sure to ask about preventive measures that you can take at home, such as brushing and flossing techniques or medicated rinses to help protect your smile.

Cosmetic Dentistry
 Many cosmetic services are available today to enhance your smile! Often, dramatic results can be achieved with minor procedures, such as teeth whitening or dental bonding to conceal gaps between teeth or to smooth chipped edges.
Porcelain is a great restorative material for use in cosmetic dentistry, it is translucent and highly resistant to staining, which results in a permanently white, natural-looking restoration. Veneers are thin, porcelain coverings that are adhered to your natural teeth; they are custom-fabricated by our dental laboratory and shaped to create the smile "style" that you want to achieve. Veneers can usually be adhered with minimal to no drilling or tooth preparation. All-porcelain crowns can also be used to replace discolored crown and bridge restorations or when more extensive tooth coverage is required.

Invisalign® Orthodontics
 Dr. Fernandez and Dr. Sigman are certified Invisalign™ providers. This orthodontic
technology uses a series of removable plastic custom-fitted trays to gradually
straighten teeth.
The process is very simple - you wear the clear aligners 24 hours a day, and visit our office periodically to receive
sequential aligners. With each new aligner, different pressure is applied to the teeth to achieve calculated movement.
Invisalign™ treatment begins with a thorough examination and analysis of your teeth using photos, bite models and
digital radiographs. Our doctors use patented Invisalign™ technology and 3D computer simulation to evaluate your smile and finalize the desired results of your treatment plan with you before submitting custom specifications to the Invisalign® laboratory for aligner fabrication.

Denture Services
When multiple teeth are lost and bite and chewing functions are compromised, the digestive processes of the body can
be disrupted. Eventually, this condition can lead to gastrointestinal disorders. Additionally, any remaining teeth can
become stressed due to bite imbalance.
A complete or partial denture may be required to replace missing teeth and restore proper bite and chewing function. We
work closely with our dental laboratory to design a  custom-fitted denture appliance, followed by necessary adjustments
to ensure a proper fit.

Hygiene Services
 Our Hygiene Team plays a vital role in our practice. A proper health maintenance plan for your smile will include regular visits, every 3-6 months, to see one of our hygienists for routine cleanings, necessary xrays and gum measurements to look for signs of periodontal disease. Be sure to ask about preventive services such as fluoride treatments and dental sealants to help you and your family maintain healthy smiles for a lifetime!
Periodontal Disease
Our hygienists provide nonsurgical gum treatments under the direction of our doctors to treat gum infection, or periodontal disease. Periodontal Disease is a progressive disease that begins when bacteria penetrate and grow beneath the gums. As the disease spreads, gum tissue and eventually bone become infected and are destroyed. If left untreated, periodontal disease can break down enough bone and gum tissue to cause teeth in the affected area to become loose and eventually fall out.
Common signs of Periodontal Disease are bleeding or swollen gums, persistent bad breath, receding gums or "loose" teeth that do not have a history of trauma.
Stress, smoking and poor nutrition can be contributing factors to gum disease. Recent studies also indicate that there is
a link between the bacteria that cause periodontal disease and increased risk of heart disease, stroke, and pre-term low
birth weight.
If detected early, periodontal disease can often be treated in our office with nonsurgical treatment supported by
effective home care. In some cases, surgical procedures may be required to treat bone loss or advanced penetration of
the infection. We may refer this type of case to a gum specialist, or Periodontist to maintain an assertive approach to this
detrimental disease.

Children's Dental Care
 We enjoy providing dental care for your entire family. Generally, we see children ages 3
and up in our office, and recommend that toddlers under 3 or children with complex
needs be seen by a pediatric dental specialist.
We want your child to look forward to visiting the dentist! Your child's first visit will
include a fun introduction to the sights and sounds of a dental office and a "ride" in the dental chair. Once we know that our young patient is comfortable and relaxed in our
office, we will proceed at their pace to obtain any necessary xrays and perform a
routine cleaning. Sometimes this takes more than one visit, and that is okay! Your child's
comfort and health are always our top priority.

Bite Protection
Biteguards are custom-fitted removable plastic appliances that are worn over the teeth, often during sleep. Biteguards
(or nightguards) help protect the teeth and jaw joints from damage from teeth grinding or clenching.
As part of your complete dental examination, we will evaluate both jaw joints (TMJ) and each tooth surface to observe
for signs of teeth grinding or clenching. If you "catch yourself" grinding your teeth or clenching, please bring this to our attention so that we can take appropriate measures to help keep your teeth and jaw joints healthy and pain-free.
Similar to a biteguard, a sportsguard is a custom-fitted removable plastic appliance that can be worn during sports

Emergency Care
If you experience tooth pain or discomfort, please contact our office to make arrangements to be seen. Dental disease is
progressive by nature, and delaying treatment can cause your condition to worsen and possibly result in infection or increased pain.
